Pat Etcheberry Presents Sports Performance

The Etcheberry Sports Performance is a unique training center that integrates a variety of advanced sports and fitness development techniques. Our array of training programs was developed by Pat Etcheberry, who is counted among the world’s top strength and conditioning trainers. Designed for individual athletes and teams, including professionals and amateurs at every performance level, these programs offer a wide range of benefits, including:

Choose the program that best matches your needs and performance goals. All programs are individualized based on the participant’s age, sport, position, history of injuries and present level of skill. In addition, programs can be tailored to fit your personal schedule of competition.

Meet Pat Etcheberry
Internationally acclaimed fitness and movement trainer Pat Etcheberry heads the Etcheberry Performance Division of Saddlebrook Resort, a unique training center that integrates a variety of advanced sports and fitness development techniques to help individuals attain higher levels of athletic performance and personal health.

This former Olympian has trained some of the leading professional sports figures in the world, including tennis greats Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Jim Courier and Jennifer Capriati; golf pros Nick Faldo and Ernie Els; Charles Woodson and Jim Harbaugh of the NFL; and top athletes from the NBA, LPGA and major league baseball.

Pat competed in the javelin event at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, was the 1966 Southeastern Conference Champion, and participated in the Pan American Games from 1967 to 1971. He then turned his attention to coaching college athletes as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for all sports at the University of Kentucky, a school noted for its championship teams. In 1984, Pat was nominated as “Strength Coach of the Year” by the National Strength Coaches Association.

His own athletic accomplishments and coaching experiences form the basis for Pat’s development of training techniques designed specifically to increase stamina and performance. His programs focus on improving overall physical prowess and have been embraced by individuals seeking an edge in a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sports and athletic activities.

Pat and his expert training staff will conduct your very own personal evaluation to determine your current fitness and design a personalized training experience tailored just for you and your goals. Pat will develop a customized program so that you learn how to do the drills and exercises properly to continue your training to be your best upon your return home.

The Personal Etcheberry Experience

Personal Assessment:
Your Personal Etcheberry Experience begins with your personal goals and needs assessment by Mr. Etcheberry and his staff to determine what kind of shape you're in and what you need to do about it to maximize your tennis talent.

Performance Evaluation:
A comprehensive physical evaluation based on an array of tests to identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, along with recommendations for specific training to enhance performance.

Customized Training Program Development:
After evaluations, Pat will then custom design a workout routine tailored to develop your strengths and correct your weaknesses, consisting of drills and exercises for your specific skills and needs.  Each regimen is uniquely structured to accommodate how much time you have available to train, and what facilities and equipment are available to you when you return home (in-home gym, commercial gym, or homemade apparatus). Your workout routine will also take into account any distinctive physical strengths or limitations you may have.

On-Court and Gym Workout:
Once you have been evaluated and Pat has designed your workout routine, you're off to the courts and the fitness center to learn the specific drills and exercises you will need to help reach your competitive best. You'll also experience the degree of commitment that is required of all championship level athletes. Get ready to work!

Injury Prevention:
Instruction is given in using proper training methods and sports-specific techniques to reduce the risk of injury. Injury Rehabilitation: Focused training to return a player to a performance-ready fitness level after injury, addressing both recovery from the specific injury and total body conditioning to prevent re-injury and prepare for competition.

Programs and Packages:

Weekly Training Program:
One full week of daily individualized training at Saddlebrook Resort, from Monday - Saturday.

Monthly Training Program:
One full month of daily individualized training at Saddlebrook Resort, from Monday - Saturday.

Yearly Training Program:
One full year of daily individualized training at Saddlebrook Resort, from Monday through Saturday, including direct contact with Pat Etcheberry via E-mail and/or telephone when the player is away from the resort and in competition.

Group and Team Programs:
Individually developed, sports-specific programs and training camps for sports clubs and entire teams.

Packages:
1-day, 3-day and 5-day Personalized Etcheberry Experience packages are available. Packages include training for a minimum of 4 hours per day with Pat and his staff, access to the Etcheberry Sports Performance fitness center and tennis courts, and free use of any equipment associated with your drills and exercises.  Longer and periodic packages are also available.

Group, Family and Team Discounts:
Make it a family affair, or a group trip of friends from your tennis club. Special group, family, and team discounts are available when 2-5 people register together for their Personal Etcheberry Experiences.
