Community Service
Saddlebrook Student Community Service
Our students work hard, play hard, and study hard – both on the golf course and in the Saddlebrook Prep classrooms. We feel that it’s also necessary to provide our students with firsthand opportunities to become involved with the community. Almost all of our students continue their educations at some of the best colleges and universities in the world, and most of these respected institutions place a heavy emphasis on involvement in community service. We actively seek to encourage our students’ participation in giving back to the community.
Our school works closely with these organizations:
- The Red Cross
- Habitat for Humanity
- Metropolitan Ministries
Additionally, our students organize a yearly food drive, as well as a toy drive to help those in need in the local community. Saddlebrook Prep students take pride in being able to give to the less fortunate members of our community.
Saddlebrook Prep Student Council Toy Drive
The Saddlebrook Prep Student Council collected toys for pre-Kindergarten and handicapped children. Once the generously given toys were received, student-elves wrapped each one separating boys and girls gifts. Three local schools were visited by council members delivering Christmas gifts to 150 elementary students.
Thanksgiving Day Can Drive
Each Thanksgiving, the Student Council sponsors a can drive benefitting the Sunrise Spouse Abuse Center in Pasco County. During the month of November, students brought items to their first period classes.
Approximately $700.00 was received as well; students made cash donations and revenues from a Hot Dog Eating Contest were used to purchase the rest of the grocery items. Monday, November 23rd two vehicles delivered over 2200 items to the center.
