Tournaments & Rankings

Saddlebrook Golf competes in a number of tournaments throughout the year. Our students participate in the 3 major local tours, including the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT), the Future Collegiate World Tour (FCWT), and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT). Our developmental players participate in the Greater Tampa Junior Tour to gain tournament experience. The academy provides transportation and supervision for those tournaments listed on our schedule.

The HJGT, IJGT, and FCWT award points to their participants that count toward the junior golf scoreboard national rankings. Our players are strongly encouraged to compete as often as possible to improve their rankings and their ability to compete under pressure.

Special arrangements can be made for those students wishing to travel to additional tournaments. Students must receive approval from both their coach and the school in order to attend tournaments that are not on the Saddlebrook schedule. All arrangements for travel, accommodations, supervision etc. must be handled by the student and/or their parent or guardian.

High School Golf Team

Saddlebrook Prep also has a high school golf team that competes against other high schools in the area. Saddlebrook has won a number of FHSAA State, District and Regional Championships. By having a high school team we offer our players more tournament experience, an opportunity to play a number of different local courses, and encourage team work and camaraderie.

President’s Day 2010 Tournament at Lake Jovita

Saddlebrook Prep golfers had a successful President’s Day when 3 of them won their divisions in the Greater Tampa Junior Tournament at Lake Jovita Country Club. Kristaps Gulbis won a playoff in the 16-18 division to take home the 1st place trophy. Elliot Azoulay also placed 3rd in that division. Anika Schroder won the 15-18, girls division for her second consecutive GTJGA tournament win. Evan Sun won a one-hole playoff for the victory in the 9-10 year old division. Congratulations to all of our winners.

Publix-Doral Junior Tournament in Miami on December 19 and 20, 2009

Congratulations to Evan Sun who placed 3rd in the 9 year old division of the Publix-Doral Junior Tournament in Miami. The Publix-Doral tournament selects the top junior golfers from around the world to participate in its tournament.

 

Greater Tampa Junior Golf Tournament played at Countryside Country Club on November 22, 2009

Congratulations to Nicolas Wilhelm who placed 3rd in the Greater Tampa Junior Golf Tournament played at Countryside Country Club on November 22nd. We would also like to congratulate junior, Anika Schroeder who won the girls 15-18 division at this tournament. She shot a 43 on the front 9; inclement weather prevented them from completing the round.

 

IJGT Tournament at Saddlebrook Resort, October 31st and November 1st

 

Congratulations to Arthur Edelman who placed 2nd in this weekend’s IJGT tournament hosted at Saddlebrook Resort. This marks the third time Arthur has placed in a tournament this season. His 72-72, 4 over performance was another strong showing for Arthur and Saddlebrook Prep.

 

 

IJGT Tournament at Falcon’s Fire in Kissimmee, FL October 10th and 11th, 2009

Saddlebrook Prep’s sophomore, 15-year old Lauren Riehle was the winner at the IJGT Tournament October 10th and 11th. Lauren who played in the girls 15 to 19 division shot a 74 and 79 for a tournament total score of 153.

Also at the tournament, Saddlebrook Prep’s Arthur Edelman won 2nd place in the boys 13 to 15 division. Arthur shot a 78 and 76 for a tournament total of 154.

The IJGT tournament was held at Falcon’s Fire in Kissimmee, Florida
