Labor Day Weekend Getaway in Tampa, FL

Published on November 7, 2022

Labor Day Weekend marks the beginning of summer’s wind-down in many parts of the country. That’s not the case in the Tampa Bay area, at least when it comes to weather, given our area’s subtropical-bordering-on-tropical climate. Naturally, however, the realities of work and school schedules mean many folks understandably want to take full advantage of the holiday weekend at the start of September.

You won’t find a better perch in Greater Tampa for R&R, sightseeing, festivities, and other Labor Day pleasures than Saddlebrook Resort. Our upscale car-free Walking Village and its beautifully landscaped, extraordinarily well-appointed 480 acres provide creature comforts, lavish luxuries, and a celebrated spectrum of on-site activities and attractions, plus a prime Wesley Chapel location serving as a springboard for Tampa Bay day-tripping.

Labor Day Events & Activities Around Tampa Bay

As even a brief perusal of our website will likely demonstrate—and as we’ll drive home shortly in this blogpost—you can have an utterly magical Labor Day escape without even leaving our grounds here at Saddlebrook Resort. But if you do feel like getting out and about around Tampa Bay on the occasion of the holiday weekend, you’re certainly nicely set up for it.

As usual, there are plenty of goings-on for Labor Day Weekend 2022 in the Tampa Bay area: too many, indeed, to do justice to here. To suggest the variety of happenings, we’ll point to the colorful street soiree of GeckoFest over in Gulfport’s Historic Waterfront District, stacked with live music, wandering entertainers, acrobatics, a costume contest and parade, food and arts-and-crafts vendors, kids’ activities, and much more. Or seek renovation, improvement, and DIY inspiration over at Florida’s Largest Home Show, going down in Expo Hall on the Florida State Fairgrounds from September 2nd through the 5th. And if you’re in the mood for live music, how about the one and only Sir Rod Stewart—sharing a bill with Cheap Trick—at Amalie Arena on Saturday, September 3rd?

Of course, Greater Tampa’s year-round array of top-shelf attractions will be beckoning over the holiday weekend: from ZooTampa, the Florida Aquarium, and Busch Gardens to stellar institutions such as MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry) and the Tampa Museum of Art. Take a sightseeing cruise on Tampa Bay, or experience just how spectacular saltwater angling is here on a charter seeking redfish, snook, snapper, tarpon, or grouper.

Summer Holiday Accommodations at Saddlebrook Resort

As we’ve alluded to, our resort itself has much to offer for Labor Day pleasures. With a home base in one of our Deluxe Guest Rooms or multi-bedroom suites, you’ll have our transfixing Saddlebrook realm of lagoons, cypresses, palms, gardens, courtyards, and stone walkways to explore—not to mention the recreational joys of our expansive and well-supported golf and tennis facilities.

Walk our nature preserve, dine and sip at our multiple restaurants and lounges, take a dip in one of our pools (none grander than the 500,000-gallon Superpool), work out or take a wellness class in our Sports Village. There’s much to see and do here—and plenty of opportunity to not do much at all except relax and refresh yourself.
